    About

My work as a counsellor is focused on helping you overcome emotional challenges and navigate through overwhelming experiences. With an unwavering belief in the power of creating a non-judgmental and authentic therapeutic environment, I strive to foster a space where you can engage in deep and transformative work that leads to genuine healing and inner peace. I work closely with each person to find and develop a treatment plan that will embrace the uniqueness of each situation, individual, and family, and offer the attention required to achieve optimal mental wellness.

Through my work with children and families, I have observed firsthand how conflicts and challenges in a parent relationship have significant implications for the wellbeing of children and the entire family system. Acknowledging this has encouraged me to grow in my work with couples in order to help them build stronger, more loving relationships. By helping couples create a secure emotional bond and learn to communicate more effectively, we can move towards a more harmonious and resilient environment that supports the growth and wellbeing of the whole family unit.

    Experience

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in New Brunswick and a Double Major Honours Degree in Psychology and Children Studies at York University in Toronto. I have worked as a child and youth counsellor at the Child and Parent Resource Institute and have experience providing counselling and psychotherapy services to children, parents, and families working at Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness. Over the last several years, I have been working with adults, couples, families, and adolescents through private practice. During the summer months, I volunteer my time as a children’s camp director, where I am responsible for organising, facilitating, and overseeing volunteer staff who lead camp programming.

    Approach To Therapy

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client centred. I pull from a variety of therapy models to best serve the people I work with:

cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, family systems therapy, and attachment based therapy.
