At Talking Works, we use an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of modalities. This can look like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which aims to help you identify and challenge negative thoughts and behaviours, and develop more adaptive coping strategies. Or, narrative therapy (NT), which allows you to reframe the stories you have about yourself in a more positive and empowering way, which leads to greater self-awareness and improved mental health.
As you work through this new narrative, compassion focused therapy (CFT) helps to cultivate a newfound sense of self compassion, while simultaneously improving your compassion for others, helping you to develop a more positive relationship with yourself and others. If you are looking for practical solutions to specific challenges in your life, solution focused therapy (SFT) is a short-term therapy that focuses on internal strengths and resources, rather than problems, and helps you to identify and implement strategies for achieving your desired goals.
